Celebrate the season with stories, savings, and community spirit at our Fall Book Festival held at Currituck County Public Library – Barco Branch.

Browse a wide selection of books for all ages and genres — and when you find a favorite, simply take a book and make a donation!

Festival Hours:

• Thursday & Friday, October 24–25, 2025: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
• Saturday, October 25, 2025: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

We only accept Cash or Checks.

Genealogy

Genealogy Kids Kits

Remember to pick up our Genealogy Kid’s Kit! The kit includes:

• A family history booklet,
• Family tree charts,
• Family member interview questions,
• A family tradition worksheet,
• And more.

It’s a great way to encourage children to become their very own future family historians. Bring your completed bingo card back to the library and receive a special surprise!

Genealogy Courses On Demand

Currituck County Libraries offer 6 different Genealogy courses on demand! Hone your genealogy skills at your own pace, at a time that works for you. Each course is a self-paced video, available for individual viewing at the Barco or Moyock Libraries anytime during our normal business hours.

Courses may be taken individually, in any order, or all at once, depending on your needs and level of experience with genealogy research.

Broughton Goodson, Agriculture Extension Agent (from Currituck Extension Center) and Currituck 4-H. Learn about agriculture and how food and fiber is grown, to feed and clothe the world. We will also have the opportunity to use Virtual Reality Harvest Simulator Goggles!
